Summary:

It's about a servant girl named Tess in 1912, who wants to escape from the house where she works, and most particularly the lecherous young lord of the manor. But that's not her biggest problem. While on a voyage to America, where she plans to escape and start a new life, she meets Alec, who's ruggedly handsome, fabulously wealthy, intelligent and yet so clearly troubled that she'd rather not fall for him, but she does. That also is not her biggest problem. Alec, it turns out, is a werewolf ... one cursed to change every night, unless and until he surrenders his independence and joins the Brotherhood, a pack of violently misogynistic werewolves who have been tracking him for months. You'd think that would be their biggest problem, wouldn't you?

But no. Their biggest problem -- though they don't know it yet -- is that they're aboard the RMS Titanic

Review:

I knew right from the get go that this book was definetely one to check out. Come on werewolves on the Titanic? that just sounds aweseom! The book definetely lived up to the expectations I had going into it. Before reading Fateful I had never read a book set in the early 1900's because well history bores me. But I found that Claudia Gray used the setting and language that people spoke in back then very well, and made it very enjoyable to read.

I absolutely LOVED this book, everthing was so well thoughout and written. Tess is a housemaid for a rich family who is riding the Titanic to New York, where once they get there Tess hopes to sneek away and start a new life for herself. Tess was a very strong main character mentally and physically, which I find to be a very good quality for a main character in a book. The relationship between Tess and Alec felt real and moved at  realisticly. There relationship had meaning and you can see that in the actions they take throughout the book. The werewolve mythology wasn'y 100% unique but was still interesting to read. Claudia Gray added the element  of darkness to the story, which was the brotherhood. I found that reading about the Brotherhood was enthralling, what they do and how they run is so organized and scary. Claudia Gray's writing was excellent to say the least, she told this story so well that just like Titanic the movie, it will squeeze a few tears out of you.

I thought that because this story was taking place on the Titanic , of all places, that I knew just how the story was going to end no matter the differences in between. I was wrong! I wish that this was going to be a sereies because I want, no need, more from Tess and Alec's story, hopefully Claudia Gray will do more with them in the future. I will definetely be checking out her Evernight series!

Jess- although I may show up as Fairday, the main character from my novel. I can't figure out why that happens sometimes and I can't fix it. :)
