Review:

Cinder is an interesting twist on a classic fairy tale story. Mixing a fairy tale that everyone knows and loves with sci-fi aspects such as Cyborgs, androids, a futuristic setting, and a disease that has been killing millions is a brilliant idea. These few reasons are the main contributors to why I loved Cinder so much. Cinder is a loosly based re-telling of Cinderella it's reconizable but obviously there are some differences, but I personally think it's better than the original fairy tale. Adding some Cyborgs into the mix ha revamped the plot and made it enjoyable start to finish.

Cinder is a mechanic who just happens to be a cyborg as well, and she is thrown into this epic adventure when the young Prince Kai brings his android for her to fix. She hides the fact that she is a cyborg, because being one makes you lesser than a normal human. Something that is totally awesome in this book are the Lunars, they are a alien people who live on the moon and are a threat for war on earth. Think this book is epic yet? Thrown into the mix is a deadly disease that is killing thousands of people, and there is also a sweet romance between Cinder and Kai. There is also the element of mystery surrounding Cinder's accident she had when she was young that caused her to become a cyborg. Pretty much this book has it all, just read it for your self and fall in love with it as I did.

Usually I'm not known to be a "fast" reader, I read at a fairly normal speed. But when I started Cinder I ended up on page 80 before I knew it and finsihed the following day. Most books I don't find to be unputdownable, but this one definitely was for me. Marrisa Myer has such a natural and smooth style to her writing that will draw readers in and not let go until you are on the last page. Even then you will want no NEED to get your hands on the next one. I only had one teeny tiny problem with Cinder, this probaly wont happen to most people while reading it. I found some of the plot to be a bit predictable at times, it was still majorly enjoyable though. The thing I found to be predictable was the mystery surrounding Cinder's origins and the mystery behind her accident, there were some obvious clue in the text that gave it away, at least for me. It did not in anyway spoil my enjoyment of Cinder, and there were some surprises that made up for it.

Do yourself a huge favour and buy Cinder when it hits shelves in early January. This books has all the elements that anyone can look for in a book, and will appeal to both females and males. Don't let the fact that it's based on a fairy tale that has lots of romance in it turn you away if you're not into that sort of thing. It will also appeal to fans of every genre. Cinder will have you in it chains and it will throw away the key after you read the first page.
