Godspeed was fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos.

It''s been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is over. And everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed. But there may just be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He''s finally free to enact his vision - no more Phydus, no more lies.

But when Elder discovers shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed. They must work together to unlock a puzzle that was set in motion hundreds of years earlier, unable to fight the romance that''s growing between them and the chaos that threatens to tear them apart.

In book two of the Across the Universe trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis mesmerizes us again with a brilliantly crafted mystery filled with action, suspense, romance, and deep philosophical questions. And this time it all builds to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship

I wasn't the biggest fan of the first book, Across the Universe, I expected to like this one just the same. In fact though, I loved A Million Suns, this sequel is without a question better than the first. Beth Revis has created such a fantastic world and dystopian society on the ship Godspeed. She also tend to throw in so many new revelations that you will be glued to your seat in anticipation to see what the heck it really going on this ship.

With the conclusion of Across the Universe and the whole ship not moving fast enough to get to the new planet had me worried about what would happen with the characters, especially Elder. The development between Elder and Amy is fantastic, they really grow in their relationship, but don't take it as far as other couples in YA fiction, which is very refreshing. The basic plot of A Million Suns is a series of clues that Orion has left behind for Amy to discover in hopes that she will reveal the truth about was is really going on, on Godspeed. Because believe me there is much more than the ship just moving slowly and possibly running out of gas before they reach the new plant. Much more! As she and Elder follow this little scavenger hunt like I said before there are tons of new and fascinating revelations.

There is also a lot of drama between Elder and the passengers now that he is the new "Eldest" that I thought really added to the chaotic events of A Million Suns. People don't trust him as a leader, people end up dead, and a rebellion started by a former friend occurs. The stakes are really high in this sequel, there will be times that you are biting your nails, crying, and jaw dropping moments. Just when you think that Beth Revis has hit you with everything she could, the ending comes... Wow, the ending just left me in awe and wanting Shades of Earth asap. I have a feeling based on what was revealed near the end that the third book just may be my favourite in the series.

This is definitely a book for people who enjoyed Across the Universe, of course, fans of the sci-fi and dystopian genres and someone just looking for a great read. It's fast paced, action packed, and has an amazing cliffhanger for an ending. I can guarantee that you will not want to miss this book!

  1. I loved Across the Universe, and A Million Suns was a zillion times better! I thought the goose chase that Orion sent them on was so clever, especially how some classic literature was tied in.
