Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.
As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini was an amazing book, it was very well written and thought out and was an amazing debut novel and series. Starcrossed is like if Percy Jackson were to meet Romeo and Juliet, it has the action and mythology of Percy Jackson but with the love like Romeo and Juliet. This combination played well together and made one fantastic book.

I loved all the characters in the book even the side characters, they were all great and add to the book. I love everything about greek myothogy and all the stories it has, and this book had a lot of the simular things I like in the myothogy and stayed true to the to the greek mythology and gods. Helen and Luscas's relationship was much different than any other I have seen in a book, the relationship went slow without the whole making out when they just met. When they met there was an attraction the felt, but they got to know eachother for who they are and truly fall in love with each other without all the physical stuff :P I really enjoyed it taking place on an island because it was an isolated environmnt and made the setting really interesting. The friction between Helen and the Delos family was very intriguing.

The only little thing I can complain about the awesome book is that even thought the relationship between Lcas and Helen was cute and well paced, I found it a little bit odd when they went from absolutely hating each other to wanting to be with each other all the time. If you've read the book you will understand why this is and it makes sense, but it was a very fast and sudden turn of emotions to one another. It doesn'tend in a cliff hanger which is good, but it does end in a way that will make you want to immedietely pick up the next one which comes out in 2012 :(. Definetely check out this book if you haven't already it is a beautiful story that you won't want to miss, and a great start to a series I have high hopes for. I recommend this book to everyone! If you've read and enjoyed Percy Jackson this will for sure become a favourite for you, and if you enjoy love story like Romeo and Juliet, and I hate to say it Twilight you will also enjoy this book.

Cover: 5/5, I love this cover its beautiful and shiny. whats not to love? And I like the dress that Helen's wearing :)

  1. I agree about Helen and Lucas (although, like you, I loved the book) their love/hate thing was a little like Bella and Edward on steroids. You knew something was up, but it was a little distracting trying to figure it out!
