Summary:

A startling, wonderful novel about the true meaning of being an alien in an equally alien world.
"We are specks. Pieces of dust in this universe. Big nothings.
"I know what I am."
Mal lives on the fringes of high school. Angry. Misunderstood. Yet loving the world -- or, at least, an idea of the world.
Then he meets Hooper. Who says he's from another planet. And may be going home very soon.

Review:

Going into this book I was expecting as book heavily surrounding aliens.. That was not the case with this one. I would say that this book is more heavily about self discovery and resolving personal issues, with a smidge of alien life forms.

The main character, Mal, is a very out spoken character, and the way that the author wrote this book you can see exactly what his personality it like. The writing in this book was very different from what I typically read, I still enjoying it but it was really sanrky and forceful. But it is a very interesting take on writing. Because of the lenght of this book (150 pages) I didn't find myself connecting with any of the character, but I did take an interest to their stories. The main Character, Mal, thinks that he was abducted by aliens prior to the books begining, and he attends group meeting with those who have a simular case. This book is definitely more contempory then sci-fi.

I found this book not to have very much of a plot line, and no real climax to the story as far as I can tell. The author mostly didn't continue her chapter from where they left off. Which didn't really create a story that could have easily had a climax. Near the end it did get more Sci-fi orientated and a bit more action packed. This is the part of the story that gained my interest the most, but then it was just over..

This book is a pretty good fast, light read. But if your looking for a book with action and aliens as the focal point, this isn't the one. But if you want a book with emotion and self discover with a little bit of alien drama thrown im, give this book a try. It's very differnt espeicially in the writing and character development then mostly seen in book, in an okay way!
